TOURISTIC INITIATIVES CENTER.
This building represents the touristic information centre of San Pedro del Pinatar (Murcia, Spain). A significant figure must be mentioned; the municipality has a total extension of 22.32 Km2 of which more than 6 Km2 are made of salt (Parque Natural de Las Salinas- a nature and animal protected reserve covered with salt marshes). Therefore, our firm decided to analyze the geometry and properties of the minuscule crystal cells of the autochthonous salt. We realized that it is a polyhedron with flat faces, and random inclinations. So we have devised this Centre of Touristic Initiatives as if it was a cell of salt, with three crystals of flat faces and random inclinations, on the water of the salt marsh (the colour of the project is due to this idea). To all the before mentioned, we must sum up the play of orientations, densities, and inner configuration, which create a proposal full of geometric reflections and elements that recreate the local environment.
